Background

Land-use planning and management is constantly taking place all over and especially in big growing metropolitan areas. Urban plans for the futures of metropolitan areas provide a good starting point for the new practice. Land-use planning and business is a complex multi stakeholder environment where better collaborativeness is often the success driver. Munincipal zoning monopolies are transfering towards a model where private sector becomes the active creator member alongside the increasing citizen participation where public party remains as the final legaliser. This transfer is in sore need of new practises and technologies to clarify and speed up the process.

Render has experience of delivering leading 3D visualization applications for companies of different size, organizations, and communities sharing the same interest to communicate and influence by the use of visualization. Customer needs range from single modeling and visualization tasks to complete service packages. Flexible cooperation and continuous investment in learning and the latest technology have resulted in customer benefits in the form on cost effective, versatile, and high-quality services.

Several decision makers were interviewed. Some conclusion from that study:

• Companies have used land-use 3D presentation only in larger project offering funding for the costly-thought 3D presentations.

• Some companies see the possibility of using 3D in a larger scale as a strategic element. Especially, several companies see the possibility to use 3D modeling as a planning tool instead of flat 2D very lucrative.

• Because of the provided technology is new, some of the traditional companies had hard time understanding the added value resulting from some of its possibilities. At the same time other companies saw those as a killer feature.

• A couple of companies were interested in the possibility of having a presentation environment of their own, but fully maintained by the provider.

• Later on that option was interrogated as a part of the questionnaire. A full maintenance leasing system with some consulting was seen as a lucrative add-on or alternative in several interviews.

Transaction Fee

Presentation Fee

600 €/ 4 hours (+ opt. travelling cost) - Hosted presentations at customer or 3D Render Oy premises.

General Service Fees for Other Tasks

Other services at hourly rates of 60€/h, 85€/h or 120€/h per request.
